Yup...that thing I keep tossing around in my head on whether or not to list it on Craigslist is staying with me. It's not perfect (never was) but it is 100% mine (owned outright)...and I'm going to make it 100% mine (fix it up my way). It's also loud as Hell.

I don't have a garage or workspace so I can't really work on a car but a motorcycle is something I can use to ease my way into wrenching. Can't wait for it to warm up so I can get to work!

I'm thinking a few things this year:

- take apart and clean the carb
- repaint the exhaust pipes
- lose the beat up saddlebags and do something else
- make a seat cover so I don't need to cover the rips with duct tape

Every time I step outside in the general direction of the bike, a 35mph gust of wind kicks me in the balls.

Thankfully it's about 10 degrees out when that happens so they're at least iced immediately after.

Look on eBay for something like this that can attach to existing hard-points (like seat bolts, backrest, turn signals, etc)

Yeah, I was thinking about something like that over the rear fender. Need to see what I have to work with but at the very least there's really good potential for the passenger seat to be rigged up pretty tastefully.

I don't know how bad your bags are, but saddle soap will do wonderful things for old leather.

They're bad as in one is torn and "stitched" together with zip ties. They were given to me by a shop, I believe they belong to this bike but were involved in a skid on someone else's. Made of a stiff vinyl, I believe. The buckles are garbage, too. Just not a fan of them but need them for when I have my laptop bag for work.

fair enough sounds like the garbage heap may be the place for them
